1999 Toyota Land Cruiser

1999 Toyota Land Cruiser

For sale is a 1999 Toyota Land Cruiser. The 100 series Land Cruiser has to be one of my favorite Toyotas ever made. They exist in a weird space where the Land Cruiser line took their first venture away from a straight axle up front and more towards a luxury vehicle while still being extremely capable offroad. They might be a soccer mom car to some, but this one came equipped from the factory with a locking rear differential and center differential. Full time 4wd takes the guessing out of winter driving and instills confidence. The 100 series Cruiser was also the first of the Land Cruiser line to receive a v8 powertrain. While the early 4.7 v8 might not be the crazy powerhouse that the 5.7 is inside of the 200 series, the 4.7 is the engine that gave Toyota the "million mile motor" hype that still exists today around the 4.7. This 100 series specifically really stands out due to just how clean its interior and body are. If you've ever shopped for a US Spec 100 series before, you've likely seen really worn out leather, outdated nav touch screens that have limited function, and rust issues. Being a 99, this Cruiser has a more "basic" dash then its later model cohorts which to me is a huge plus. 98 and 99 models were the only two 100 series years that came with the option for a rear locker as well. Both E Lockers work flawlessly. (see photo of both engaged and abs off) This cruiser is also extremely rust free. The body is in great shape with no big dents. The bumpers do however have a few scuffs as you can see in the photos. I've owned this truck twice now and originally bought it early last year before selling it to a close friend who owned it over the last year. I couldn't pass up taking it back in on trade. Last year while under my ownership, it got a full brake job and a slew of basic maintenance. This time around, I added the TRD Tundra wheels wrapped in 275/70r18 Kenda AT2 tires that have less than 100 miles on them since installation. (33" tires) The truck still sits on factory suspension that is all in great shape and the torsion bars have been turned up and reindexed for a level ride height. My favorite part of how these drive is how comfortable they are. All of the leather is in great shape, the drivers seat does show a bit more wear than the rest of the seats, but there are no split seams or tears anywhere. The 3rd row seating is also still present and in great shape. Brand new Lloyds floor mats were also added this time around. The last timing belt job was done around 210k so theres plenty of life left there. (90k mile service intervals) Lastly, I do also still have the oem wheels that are in great shape with a set of Michelin atx tires with plenty of tread life that I am willing to include for the right deal. This Land Cruiser is ready to rip, it will make a wonderful family rig, adventure rig, or just a daily driver. The aftermarket support for these Cruisers is great as well. Listed by The Dirt Tourist, DLR #190. Feel free to holler away with any questions you might have or to schedule a test drive. I am willing to entertain trade in cars but really only interested in other 4wd Toyotas. Asking $13,800 OBO. Thanks for looking!
