1985 Toyota Land Cruiser

The infamous FJ60 is one car in the cruiser line up that I don’t think will ever lose its luster. It was really the first of the “wagon” style cruisers we are accustomed to now that was well received and sold well. The FJ55 is an awesome car but there’s a reason they say it has a face only a mother could love. The FJ45LV is an awesome wagon as well but finding one of those that is still intact is like finding a needle in a haystack.

This 60 has been one of my favorite cruisers to own and definitely is one of the ones I’ve done the most to. I bought this car in Bonners Ferry last year November and my dad actually ended up daily driving it all winter. During that time, we did a lot of baselining and just ironing out the kinks (leaks, random no start issues, random dying issues, etc.) These old cars are extremely reliable, but I would also say that they’re not for the faint of heart. As with most old things, they’ve got a love language that takes time to learn how to speak. Once the snow had cleared for the most part, I commandeered the 60 back into my full time possession. Here are some key details about this cruiser.

  • Factory 2f engine with 231k miles. Factory carb as well.

  • H55f transmission swap. This is a huge upgrade, all of the diesel foreign cruisers came with this 5 speed but in america… we only got a 4 speed.

  • Old Man Emu 2.5” lift kit w/ man-a-fre anti inversion shackles.

  • 5x Nomad Convoy 501 15x7 -10mm wheels wrapped in 33x10.5x15 BF Goodrich KO2 tires.

  • 4plus Products front bumper with a Warn VR10s winch with a Factor55 prolink and a warn hawse fairlead.

  • True Hella Rallye aux lights (old school metal housings)

  • Optima yellow top battery

  • Fresh terrain tamer tie rod ends and drag links

  • New power steering pump/reservoir/pressure lines.

  • ARB Baserack w/ GFC Superlite rtt and Roam 5x8 awning

  • Onestone armrests

  • 4x4 Labs rear bumper with dual swing out. Tire carrier/high lift jack on one side and ladder/fold down table on the other.

All in all, I’ve really loved owning this car. Its the first 60 I’ve had that I have gotten to have a lot of fun with. With a few more 60s in the hopper and one massive hj61 project, its time for this one to move on to its next owner. Here are some photos!

This car has been listed at $26,800 and is ready to rip for its next owner. Feel free to ask any questions or holler for more photos at 2082711011!

Thanks for taking a look!
