This is the second e34 BMW that I’ve had the pleasure of offering for sale. Both of the cars were actually owned by a few of my friend’s Grandfathers. This car has been very well kept and loved. Finished in Brilliantrot, the paint is in wonderful shape. In many ways, this car makes you feel like you’ve stepped back in time while driving it, but doesn’t make you feel like you’re missing much, if any of the things new cars have to offer. Power is delivered via the m60b40 4.0 liter v8 engine and a 5 speed automatic transmission. This pairing puts out just a bit over 280hp in factory form. This car is equipped with a dinan chip however which bumps up the max hp to about 296. Driving a car from the mid 90s that feels like a luxury sedan all while being able to beat most cars off the line at a red light sure is fun.

Sadly, this car did sit around for a while so some electronic components are at their wits end. Specifically, the blower motor resistor seems to have a mind of its own, the radio works (thankfully the original code was still in the car with all the original manuals) but it cuts out over bumps or aggressive braking, and lastly, the on board computer throws random lights such as “brake light circuit” and “coolant level” all while the coolant level is right where it ought to be and the brake lights work. Lastly, the seats do have the e34 seat twist (only one side of the back of the chair will recline).

Mechanically, this car is in pretty solid shape. It was garaged most of its life and has 0 rust to speak of. The trans feels very smooth and fluid levels are great. The engine is happy with no funky sounds or any skip of a beat, it’s very happy to rev up over 5k which is where these little v8s show their fun personality. It also is a joy to just cruise in, cruise control works flawlessly and the car doesn’t even think about downshifting up a large grade while holding 70mph+. With new tires and a quick baseline tune up already done, this car is ready for a new owner!
